SILVERADO 1500 CAB STYLES

The Silverado 1500 is offered in three cab styles:

SILVERADO 1500 REGULAR CAB
SILVERADO 1500 DOUBLE CAB

SILVERADO 1500 DURAMAX DIESEL ENGINE

When it comes to towing, low-rpm torque is the name of the game. With that in mind, Chevy is set to offer the Silverado 1500 with an available 3.0-Liter I-6 LM2 Duramax power plant. The turbocharged diesel engine 460 pound-feet of torque at just 1500 rpm and features air-to-liquid inter-cooling, and a variable-geometry turbo.

Turbocharged diesel engines also carry the added benefit of improved fuel economy. The new inline-six diesel option features a low-pressure exhaust-gas re-circulation system to both improve responsiveness and increase fuel-efficiency. GM is still waiting on EPA certification for the diesel engine, but the automaker expects to exceed 30 mpg on the highway. Quite impressive for a full-size truck.
