At Walker Chevrolet, we strive to keep our guests inform and up-to-date on all the latest news from the Chevrolet Brand. As a result, we wanted to let our valued customers know about an outstanding safety recall for some Chevy Bolt EV and Chevy Bolt EUV models. This is due to a potential defect in the lithium ion battery cells, and out of an abundance of caution, the Chevrolet Brand has initiated a safety recall. However, whether you own one of these models now or you were thinking about buying or leasing one in the future, don't worry! At Walker Chevrolet, we're your Chevy Bolt EV experts and we'll help you every step of the way.

Now, this safety recall only effects Chevy Bolt EV models produced between the 2017 and 2022 model years, and Chevy Bolt EUV models for the 2022 model year. The Chevy Brand is recalling these models to remove the defective lithium ion battery packs to replace them with updated lithium ion modules. If you purchased an effected model from our dealership, our team members will reach out to you when the replacement parts are available.

In the meantime, it's a good idea to set your car's charge level to 90 percent charge limitation, or bring it to our service center to have one of our team members do it for you. On top of that, you can charge your vehicle a bit more frequently, and avoid depleting the battery pack below 70-miles of estimated range where possible.

If you have any questions about the safety recall for these models or when new Chevy Bolt EV and Bolt EUV models will be available, don't hesitate to get in touch with us here at Walker Chevrolet. We're here for all your Chevy EV needs.
